By the time a child is in Grade 4 or latest by age 10, most kids have experienced some block-based programming language or other. They have definitely played video games on a smart phone and used a computer. This track provides a structured approach to coding for kids between the ages 6 to 15, and teaches them various programming skills. This course introduces a student to the world of Scratch, a block-based programming language that was created at MIT. By the end of this course, students are coding the “Happy Birthday” song! Students progress to game programming, learn the fundamentals of art, graphics design, mobile game development, and also how to design and build beautiful websites. This is the most popular track and set of courses for kids in elementary school. There are several middle schoolers who take advantage of this track and catch up with coding skills.
